Variety, The Children’s Charity, has appointed Peter Hebbes AM as the Chief Barker, who oversees all areas of the charity’s activities. The highly coveted position has been held by many high profile people since the charity was established in 1975 including Paul Hogan, Stuart Wagstaff, Tony Hatch, Grahame Mapp and Len Mauger.

Hebbes is also the General Manger of the Australasian Music Publishers Association, a Director of The Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society and a Past Director of the Music Industry Advisory Council and the Australasian Performing Right Association.

Hebbe’s achievements culminated in his appointment as a Member of the Order of Australia, AM, in 2006 for his work in the music industry and extensive charity commitments.

The Brewers Association of Australia and New Zealand has announced the appointment of its new Chief Executive, Denita Wawn.

Wawn was formerly with the National Farmers Federation for nine years as Acting CEO and General Manager for Workplace and Corporate Relations. Prior to this, Wawn worked for the Australian Hotels Association.

In making the announcement Managing Director for Lion and Chair of the Brewers Association James Brindley said “Denita will bring excellent advocacy, policy and relationship building skills to the Association and help us to build a strong association going forward.”

Third Sector wishes Hebbes and Wawn the best of luck in their new roles.
