AuSAE Third Sector Leaders Symposium

Entitled “Fresh Ideas for the Teenage Years”, the AuSAE Third Sector Leaders Symposium will be held on 26 October and include presentations from key players in the third sector.
Following the success of previous symposiums, which saw discussions with Lindsay Tanner in AuSAE 2008 and Commissioner Robert Fitzgerald in 2009, AuSAE is pleased to announce the program for 2010:
- Stephen Mayne, The Mayne Report, and founder of crikey.com “Shareholders” and governance in the NFP sector
- Michael Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Society of Association Executives The revised list of essential competencies of the association executive
- Michael Schaper, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) Professions and the Trade Practices Act – impact on professional associations
- Information on the new ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission) requirements for companies under $1 million turnover
- What do “lean” and “sustainable” mean and how do they apply to the not-for-profit sector?
- Report from the conference of the American Society of Association Executives 2010
- Panel discussion: Stephen Mayne, Michael Anderson and Keith Roberts from NFP Analysts War stories from the board room.
Delegates will have the opportunity to visit Meeting Mart nearby at the conclusion of the symposium.
Networking Dinner
To be held on Monday 25 October, delegates will also have the chance to catch up with and meet like-minded peers at the networking dinner on the eve of the symposium.
Guest speaker Burkard Polster is Monash University’s resident mathemagician, mathematical juggler, origami expert, bubble-master, shoelace charmer, and Count von Count Impersonator.
