Peter Barlow has been elected as the new Chairman of the World Travel Agents Associations Alliance (WTAA).
WTAAA is an agency representative body which accounts for almost 70 percent of global airline sales processed through airline settlement plans.
“The primary mission of purpose of WTAAA is to ensure the viability of its membership base and to speak from one voice globally. WTAAA facilitates an exchange of information and ideas that is of vital importance to the world’s agency distribution system,” described Barlow.
The outgoing Chairman and founding member of WTAAA, Mike Hatton, was also unanimously awarded a life membership in recognition of his service to the association.
Australian Corporate Lawyers Association
Trish Hyde has been welcomed as the new CEO of the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association (ACLA).
Trish Hyde joins ACLA after serving three years as CEO at the Confectionery Manufacturers of Australasia (peak industry body for confectionery) where she revitalised the offer for members, raised the profile of the organisation and developed a long term sustainable model that is now in place.
She takes over from Peter Turner, who has held the position of CEO for the past eight years. ACLA announced that Turner is acknowledged by the profession as having built the association to a united national organisation.
“This is an exciting time for ACLA. As the peak body for in-house lawyers we are poised to take a greater stake in the legal debates in Australia and lift our offering and services for members,” said David Patience, ACLA National President.
