Those doing exceptional things in the community sector can now receive the recognition they deserve.
Nominations are now open for the 2017 Macquarie Social Innovation Award.
The biennial Award recognises, promotes and rewards new ideas that work to meet pressing community social needs, alleviate disadvantage and promote social inclusion within Australia.
Applicants will demonstrate that their organisation or program has benefited or has the potential to further benefit Australians and address an unmet community need. The $100,000 Award will fund further investment in, or development of, the organisation or program nominated in the application.
The Social Innovation Award was established in 2010 to celebrate the 25-year anniversary of the Macquarie Group Foundation. Previous winners include:
2015 – Hello Sunday Morning
2014 – Fogarty EDvance
2012 – Milk Crate Theatre
2010 – School for Social Entrepreneurs
“The Macquarie Social Innovation Award inspires organisations within the community sector to strive for excellence through the implementation of social innovation and seek new ways to support the disadvantaged in our community,” said Lisa George, Global Head, Macquarie Group Foundation.
Applications close on 7 April, 2017. Longlisted candidates will be contacted to provide more information and the winner will be announced in August 2017.
