Australian Childhood Foundation Patron and national hero Rosie Batty is joining 8 other brave individuals on a 6-day trek from October 23-26 through Tasmania’s iconic Overland Track.
Combining her love for trekking with her mission of advocacy, Rosie aims to raise critical funds for the Australian Childhood Foundation in this year’s Trek for Childhood.
The strenuous trek is a bid to raise funding for the valuable work that the Australian Childhood Foundation does to ensure children’s well-being and safety, including advocating for policies, providing resources for parents and guardians and providing therapeutic services to children to help heal from trauma.
National children’s week is an important reminder of the ongoing child abuse that is still prevalent in Australian communities, that is leaving 480,000 children in volatile situations each year.
Through collaborating with a network of adults and organisations, focusing on creating an environment dedicated to the recovery and healing of children, the foundation has raised $28,693 so far.
Donate here to support children recovering from the devastating impact of abuse, neglect and family violence.
