Tour de Cure announces a new CEO

Tour de Cure is delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Rountree as new CEO, effective 1 September 2020.
Simon is a purpose-led executive with over 25 years’ experience in the Not for Profit sector, including The Starlight Foundation, MS Society and for 16 years as CEO of Camp Quality, where he led the growth of a small organisation to one generating $25 million a year.
In that time, Camp Quality also became Australia’s trusted children’s charity, providing support and information to 250,000 children and their families each year.
Simon has a proven record of growing organisations functionally and culturally, dealing with senior members of large corporate organisations and government, and brings with him a wealth of experience that covers all areas of Tour de Cure’s operations.
Tour de Cure Chairman, Bruno Maurel believes ‘Simon is ideally qualified to lead Tour de Cure through its next phase of growth and to deliver our ambitious three year plan to significantly increase Tour de Cure’s impact towards curing cancer and changing lives.’
Tour de Cure covers ground to cure cancer. Through their inspirational, challenging and fun cycling tours and events, they fund the world-class cancer projects with the aimto have the biggest impact.
Since 2007, they have raised over $60 million, funded 502 cancer projects, and achieved 29 significant cancer breakthroughs, and we’ve helped to raise awareness about cancer prevention to more than 150,000 school children across Australia.
