Philanthropic initiatives extended to children

The inaugural Kids Helping Kids Awards are an initiative of SchoolAid, a not-for-profit organisation that encourages philanthropy in Australian kids, whilst fostering leadership, resilience and independence.
The Awards will acknowledge the empathy and compassion of Australian school children, whilst recognising the tireless work of schools and educators who nurture and encourage the next generation of philanthropists.
The Awards are supported by the The Hon. Ursula Stephens, Parliamentary Secretary for Social Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector, and endorsed by the Australian Primary Principals Association, Principals Australia and state Education Departments across Australia.
Entries for the Kids Helping Kids Awards will close 15 September.
In another development for children’s philanthropy, Perfect Vision, a laser eye clinic on Australia’s East Coast, has partnered with The Fred Hollows Foundation to join in the global mission to help save children’s sight.
Perfect Vision will make a donation to The Fred Hollows Foundation from every iLASIK procedure, a laser procedure based on new technology that uses two computers instead of one.
