Officeworks’ 2025 Back to School Appeal benefits thousands of Australian students with over $9 million of generous donations.Â
As the new school year approaches, Officeworks has launched its highly anticipated 2025 Back to School Appeal. This year’s initiative aims to raise vital funds to support disadvantaged students across Australia through The Smith Family’s impactful Learning for Life program.
The long-standing partnership between Officeworks and The Smith Family boasts a remarkable track record. Over the past 12 years, the Back to School Appeal has transformed the lives of more than 60,000 students facing financial hardship. Thanks to the generosity of Officeworks’ customers and team members, the Appeal has successfully raised over $9 million in support of The Smith Family’s vital Learning for Life program.
Understanding the increasing financial pressures faced by Australian families, Officeworks is calling on the community to rally behind this worthy cause. From December 27th until February 9th, customers can donate to the Appeal in-store or online. All funds raised will go directly towards the Learning for Life program, empowering families affected by poverty to provide their children with essential school supplies.
Beyond essential supplies, the Learning for Life program offers invaluable personal support and access to additional educational initiatives. This holistic approach keeps students motivated, engaged, and empowered throughout their educational journey.
One such family benefiting from the program is 13-year-old Brooklyn and her mother, Breeanne. The Smith Family’s support has not only alleviated financial stress but has also opened doors to new opportunities through additional learning programs and personal guidance.
“Before we started receiving The Smith Family funding, life was tough,” shared Breeanne. “The program has eased a huge burden, allowing us to prioritise essentials for Brooklyn’s education.”
Brooklyn echoed her mother’s sentiment, highlighting the importance of the program in her academic journey. “Having the things I need to learn is crucial for my future,” she said. “The Smith Family’s support has helped me feel confident and prepared for school, especially upcoming events like camp.”
Doug Taylor, CEO of The Smith Family, emphasised the enduring impact of the partnership with Officeworks. “Together, we’ve created opportunities for thousands of disadvantaged students,” he said. “The Back to School Appeal provides them with the essentials they need to succeed, along with ongoing support to stay engaged and on track.”
Sharing The Smith Family’s vision, Officeworks Managing Director Sarah Hunter reiterated their commitment to educational equity. “We believe every child deserves access to a quality education,” she stated. “Our partnership with The Smith Family allows us to make a tangible difference in the lives of countless students, helping to bridge the literacy, numeracy, and social connection gaps for young Australians.”
By donating to the Back to School Appeal via Officeworks stores or online, the community can play a crucial role in supporting students in need and fostering a brighter future for them.
