NFP treasurers now have the chance to be recognised with a $5,000 reward or a Commonwealth Bank NFP Treasurers Award Certificate.

The Commonwealth Bank NFP Treasurers Award aims to provide recognition for treasurers in the sector who may not always be noticed.

This year the award will be split into two parts.

Category A will allow organisations to nominate their treasurer to receive an official 2016 NFP Treasurer’s Award Certificate of Appreciation with their name on it. Anyone who has served as a Treasurer in an Australian NFP for at least 12 months can be nominated.

Category B allows treasurers to nominate themselves to win $5,000. Treasurers who have served for an Australian NFP for at least 12 months are eligible. Treasurers must answer questions in order to win this award. The questions will be drawn from Our Community’s 2015 Not-for-Profit Finance & Governance Survey’.

Denis Moriarty Group Managing Director of Our Community urged every not-for-profit board to recognise the significant contribution of their treasurer, and apply online for a free ‘Certificate of Recognition’, along with the chance to win $5,000 for their community group.

Moriarty said, “I commend the Commonwealth Bank’s not-for-profit banking team, who have been working on delivering better banking across the entire NFP sector, rather than just cherry-picking the big NFP accounts, and for their wisdom in providing the amazing array of free financial literacy resources for all not-for-profits, boards, treasurers and staff.”

Nominations will close at 12 pm, July 29, 2016. http://www.ourcommunity.com.au/financial/financial_article.jsp?articleId=3568
