Third Sector Expo 2012 will unite key players in the sector through two days of professional development and an interactive exhibition, held in Melbourne from Monday 16 April – Tuesday 17 April 2012.

These three speakers are the latest to bring their high level of expertise to Third Sector Expo 2012 to benefit the not-for-profit (NFP) sector.

Justin Bown, Director, GerrardBown

In recent years Australian NFPs have been the target of increased regulation, faced tighter Government funding requirements, and are subject to a difficult environment for corporate and philanthropic support.

In light of this, how do NFPs identify opportunities to grow, generate untied funds and innovate?

At Third Sector Expo 2012 Justin Bown of GerrardBown will share experiences from the NFP sector in identifying growth opportunities through service development, acquisitions and geographic expansion to help NFPs grow their organisation.

Greg Ford, Policy Manager, Heart Foundation Victoria

Ford is an expert in policy and advocacy, and at Third Sector Expo 2012 he will explain how the Heart Foundation successfully advocates in its fight against heart disease, including its campaign for plain cigarette packaging and for state and local governments to introduce outdoor smoking bans.

Tim Sheehy, CEO, Chartered Secretaries Australia (CSA)

Sheehy has been CEO of NFP organisation CSA for over twelve years. During this time he has developed a strong knowledge of NFP governance, and has also been active in supporting and promoting the governance practices of NFPs through CSA’s NFP Governance Initiative.

At Third Sector Expo 2012, Sheehy will be part of a panel of experts that will answer questions and provide key advice to NFPs.
