Brainwave Australia welcomes Her Excellency Quentin Bryce, Governor General of Australia, as its new Patron-in-Chief.
Bryce agreed to lend her patronage to the paediatric brain illness charity following a formal submission to her office by the Brainwave Board of Directors.
Christine Nixon has been appointed inaugural chair of Good Shepherd Microfinance, Australia’s largest microfinance scheme.
Nixon was Victorian Chief Police Commissioner from 2001 to 2009 and Chair of the Victorian Bushfire Authority from 2009 to 2010.
Her leadership and commitment to working with communities is expected to assist the organisation build on its solid foundations of reducing poverty through safe, fair and affordable microfinance options.
The Asset Management Council has appointed David Daines and Glenn Ingram to its Board of Directors. Daines is Head of Asset Management for BHP Billiton Iron Ore and Glenn Ingram is Head of Asset Management for Newcrest Mining Ltd.
Retiring from the Board of Directors is Peter Kohler and Kieran Skelton.
Third Sector congratulates Bryce, Nixon, Daines and Ingram on their new roles and wishes Kohler and Skelton the best of luck in their future endeavours.
