The e-gala, which can be viewed via this website, was the result of a partnership between Third Sector, The CTK Foundation and Connecting Up Australia.
There were a range of awards presented at the e-gala including The Bloggers Choice Award which invited not-for-profit (NFP) organisations to write a poem that conveys the mission of their organisation. Third Sector had the honour of selecting the NFP to receive the $US1,000 grant and of presenting at the e-gala.
Third Sector Editor Candice de Chalain said “There were so many wonderful poems submitted and it was difficult choosing only one. Working with NFPs daily, it was great to be able to reward those who work so hard for their members and causes.”
Third Sector has been providing articles to assist with NFPs’ professional development and to keep them up-to-date with key developments in the sector since 2008. As well as providing their own expert knowledge, they enlist the expertise of specialists in the sector to facilitate knowledge sharing and provide a valuable forum for NFPs.
In addition to their quarterly magazine and fortnightly e-newsletter, Third Sector provides a range of professional services to assist NFPs, including graphic design, events and conference management, publishing, editorial, secretariat and marketing services.
After careful deliberation, Third Sector Editor Candice de Chalain presented the grant at the e-gala to the Queensland Justices Association (QJA). The QJA Registrar Angela Yin’s acceptance speech can be seen by visiting the e-gala and clicking on the image of the grant cheques.
“We really enjoy reading Third Sector magazine,” Yin said.
