Breaking the cycle of disadvantage
The Australian Social Inclusion Board is seeking submissions to aid its research on breaking the cycle of disadvantage.
The Board is seeking input from stakeholders who have been involved in the design, delivery and evaluation of such programs, as well as input from members of the general public who have views about how services could better meet their needs.
Submissions are requested to help the Board understand how various factors can develop and combine to trap a person or family in a cycle of disadvantage. A key outcome sought of this project will be to identify the key interventions that can help people avoid and break cycles of disadvantage.
Submissions will help shape the Board’s advice to Government and will also be used to inform a series of interviews with people experiencing disadvantage.
The closing date for submissions is Friday 10th July.

National Volunteer Strategy

The strategy will be released to mark the ten year anniversary of the United Nations International Year of Volunteers which will be celebrated through the world in 2011.
The strategy development is now at the community consultation phase and Volunteering Australia encourages interested stakeholders to provide comment to government on the strategy.
The deadline for input is Wednesday 30 June 2010.
