New CEO for Youth Projects

Homelessness charity Youth Projects has appointed Ben Vasiliou as its new Chief Executive Officer to lead the not-for-profit organisation into a new period of expansion.

Vasiliou was chosen by the Youth Projects’ Board, after a rigorous executive search process, and brings with him a wealth of experience in the not-for-profit sector having been CEO of SkillsPlus and BRACE and with considerable board experience in the not-for-profit sector. Youth Projects Chair, Melanie Raymond said she was thrilled to announce the appointment of Vasiliou as CEO.

“This appointment recognises the skills and experience offered by Ben across our many program areas and his dedication to the values of Youth Projects,” she said.

“His experience in organisational change, leading new collaborations and structural reorganisations and his in-depth knowledge of disability services and employment and training will be critical to Youth Projects as we enter a period of significant growth.”

Raymond said the not-for-profit sector was experiencing challenging times with tight funding and constant policy changes and Vasiliou was the right person to lead the organisation into the future.

Vasiliou said he was honoured to be appointed CEO of Youth Projects and looked forward to leading the organisation into a new growth phase. “I have a very strong commitment to Youth Projects’ mission and vision. It is a unique organisation offering a wide range of services for those experiencing homelessness and I am excited to be able work with the team as Youth Projects expands and introduces new programs to meet the needs of Melbourne’s homeless.”

Vasiliou begins his new role at Youth Projects immediately.
