Stephanie Lorenzo, CEO of PROJECT FUTURES, a charity that aims to end human trafficking, will be stepping down.
Lorenzo leaves her role after 7.5 years. The leader grew the organisation from a volunteer initiative into a charity with four full time employees.
During this time, PROJECT FUTURES has raised over $4.4 million dollars, supported five impact partners across three countries and helped men, women and children who have experienced or at high risk of human trafficking, slavery and exploitation.
“It’s been an incredible journey leading PROJECT FUTURES to become the organisation it is today. I am so proud of everything our team has achieved and the countless lives we have positively affected as a result of our hard work,” said Lorenzo.
“To the wonderful supporters that donate, attend our events, give up their time, skills and talents, thank you. You are the reason we are where we are today and able to do what we do.”
Nicholas Edwards, Chairman, PROJECT FUTURES, said “We wish Steph all the very best for her future and have no doubt she will be a great success in her next pursuit. We look forward to her continued association as Founder to ensure continuity and the ongoing success of the organisation.”
“We are also pleased to advise that she has been invited to join the Board of Directors. Steph expects to take this up after a well-deserved break,” he said.
Lorenzo will stay on as an advocate for the charity and will leave her role as CEO on the 3rd of March, 2017.
The charity is currently in the process of recruiting a new CEO.
