Salvos launch West Winter Appeal

The West Australian newspaper has joined the Salvation Army to launch the state-wide West Winter Appeal, as part of efforts to meet the growing rate of people asking for help due to difficult economic circumstances.

The organisation said that the appeal is seeking donations – such as financial support, food, clothing, blankets and furniture – for those who face increased hardship in the coming, cold winter months.

The Salvation Army in Western Australia said that it has seen a dramatic increase in demands for support and assistance within the last eight months, placing considerable strain on the organisation’s resources.

Public Relations Secretary for the Salvation Army, Warren Palmer, said “We don’t want people to feel they cannot seek assistance when they really need it. That’s what makes the West Winter Appeal so important.”

Financial donations can be made online, by calling 13 72 58, or by post to:
The Salvation Army
PO Box 8498
PERTH BUSINESS CENTRE WA 6849
