Philanthropy Australia CEO Sarah Davies commended the Federal Government for its strong leadership in bringing philanthropic and not-for-profit experts together to provide the information, insight and advice needed at this critical time.

“Coronavirus has brought numerous challenges and changes for the philanthropic and not-for-profit sectors, and these challenges will continue to manifest as the pandemic unfolds,” Davies said.

The establishment of this dedicated Charity, Philanthropy and Fundraising Advisory Group is a fundamental step toward a collaborative and meaningful recovery journey, Davies said, and will give a strong voice to philanthropic and charitable organisations as everyone works out a way through this process.

“As the peak body for philanthropy, we have already engaged with and made presentations to this working group, and we look forward to continuing our ongoing dialogue and collaboration,” she said.

Philanthropy Australia has been one of many voices publicly calling for increased and targeted support for charities and not-for-profit organisations, and is committed to continuing to work with Government and the philanthropic and not-for-profit sectors to keep not-for-profit organisations operational and supported during this crisis and moving forward.
