McMillan will succeed Dr Sue-Anne Wallace, who has resigned from the role after five years to take up a role at Global Philanthropic.
In acknowledging Wallace’s many and significant contributions to both the organisation and the sector, FIA Chairman Lesley Ray said “FIA has thrived under Sue-Anne’s leadership and the organisation is now positioned as a key reference source and significant influence in the shaping of fundraising regulations and standards.”
McMillan has worked in a variety of capacities across many industry areas, including health care, information technology, learning and development, human resources, and management consulting. Her most recent position was as the CEO for the New South Wales branch of Variety, the Children’s Charity.
She has previously held senior executive roles with the Australian Institute of Management, Australian Business Limited, Securities Institute Australia and the Financial Planning Association.
