Governance Institute of Australia has announced the appointment of Meegan George as its new Chief Commercial Officer.

As Chief Commercial Officer, George will be responsible for member-facing and customer-centric services including events, marketing, membership and sales.

“Governance Institute has an excellent reputation as a champion of strong governance practices across all layers of an organisation,” said George.

“I look forward to working with the team to ensure that we are delivering the best service possible for our members and the broader community in a proactive and innovative way.”

George has more than 20 years’ international experience in global custody, financial planning, insurance and superannuation. In addition, she was formerly the Executive Manager of Education and Leadership at the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) where she led the development and design of their flagship program for superannuation fund directors, the Trustee Director Course.

George was also responsible for the revitalisation of AIST’s Super Grads program that is an award finalist in this year’s Australian Institute of Training and Development (AITD) awards.

“My main aim is to ensure that Governance Institute is offering members the full package, including a strong voice, leading education and training programs and topical events,” said George.

“I look forward to helping the company with its strategic direction and vision for growth.”
