John Hudson has been appointed to the Board of Foodbank NSW & ACT, a non-denominational, not-for-profit (NFP) that collects unwanted food and re-distributes it to people in need.

Hudson has a background in finance and has recently held executive roles within the property industry.

John’s great experience across numerous commercial activities throughout his career will greatly complement the current board and I am sure he will quickly play a significant role in Foodbank’s future development,” says Ern Pope, Chairman, Foodbank NSW & ACT.

Cystic Fibrosis Victoria has appointed Karin Knoester as CEO.

Knoester has held several executive roles within NFP organisations, including the Gawler Foundation where she served as CEO for eight years. Prior to that she was with World Vision Australia for over 11 years and worked in marketing and communications, customer service and donor partnering roles.

Knoester has a Bachelor of Arts (Politics and Environmental Science), Master of Arts (Development Economics) and a Diploma of Innovation and Service Management. She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Knoester officially takes on her role on Monday 15 September 2014.

The Australian Bankers’ Association (ABA) has elected an Executive Director of Industry Policy.

Tony Pearson has been appointed as Executive Director of Industry Policy. Pearson is a professional economist with a deep knowledge of global and Australian economies, banking and financial markets.

For the past five years, Pearson has worked as a Senior Policy Adviser to the Hon Joe Hockey MP, both as Shadow Treasurer and then Treasurer. His most recent role was Chief Economist to the Treasurer. Prior to that, Pearson was Chief Economist at Futurenomics, Deputy Chief Economist and Head of Industry and Strategic Analysis at ANZ and Global Head of Economics, Global Markets Division, at NAB.

RSL & Services Clubs Association announces new CEO.

Garrie Gibson has stepped into the role of CEO at RSL & Services Clubs Association. Previously Gibson was a Government Relations and Issues Management Consultant for a variety of industry associations, major corporations and community organisations.

Gibson has been a consultant to the club industry in the past working with ClubsNSW, ClubsQld and Leagues Clubs Australia, as well as a large number of clubs across NSW and the ACT. He was Deputy CEO of Clubs Qld from 1997–1999.

“I am honoured by the responsibility to work with the RSL & Services Clubs Association and to build upon the great work achieved by the previous CEO, Graeme Carroll,” says Gibson.
