In the spotlight…

The purpose of our network is to…

Lead, service and represent the electrical and communications contracting industry.

Our members…

Collectively perform over 90 per cent of all work performed by electrical and communications contractors in Australia and employ nearly 200,000 Australians.

The biggest challenge our membership faces is…

Coping with the myriad of red tape that all levels of government create which strangles small business.

Member benefits include…

Government lobbying; legal, industrial, technical and safety advice; training; group buying discounts; networking events.

We advocate strongly for…

Laws and regulations that balance the objectives of promoting public safety, and giving businesses the freedom to operate at their prerogative.

Our greatest achievement…

Is leading the change in the electrical industry’s image from a blue-collar trade to a professional and diverse career pathway. This has been achieved through a long-term focus on encouraging safe work practices and the use of technologies that have dramatically reduced electrocutions amongst the general public.

Our events…

Are many and have varying purposes, but mostly they are designed to provide networking opportunities for our members. On the whole, events should make money for an association, but sometimes it is acceptable for them to be loss-leaders.

As an association it is important to…

Remember that we are a business, just like any other. Customer (member) satisfaction must be our number one priority at all times. Too many associations forget about their members and have consequently withered. Members won’t necessarily renew unless they see value in doing so.
