In a ground-breaking move, four of Australia’s top charities – CanTeen, Starlight Children’s Foundation (Starlight), National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and The Australian Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF Australia) – have come together to establish an independent not-for-profit social enterprise, Rippling, to deliver an innovative, cost-efficient approach to fundraising.

Rippling is in the business of sustainable donor acquisition, using the power of 1:1 conversation and connection to educate and engage Australians to become ongoing regular donors, and will provide predictable, recurring income to CanTeen, Starlight, NBCF and UNICEF whose missions serve women and youth with life changing services in Australia and beyond.

The NFPs recognise that donors want a meaningful and transparent connection with the organisations they support and they want those organisations to keep fundraising and administrative costs low.

Rippling aims to help meet these donor needs and provide predictable ongoing funding to help organisations achieve their missions every day.

“A conversation starts with a ripple, creates a wave and the momentum starts a movement. Monthly donors acquired by Rippling will deliver a sustainable flow of funds to the four founding charities, helping our organisations deliver even more impact to those we support,” says Rippling Board Member and Starlight CEO Louise Baxter.

Rippling brings together four of Australia’s charities in a collaboration that is without precedent and is itself a not-for-profit organisation. The focus of Rippling is to deliver innovative, transparent and cost-effective fundraising to fund invaluable community programs. Rippling aims to benefit from shared best practices and leverage economies of scale, delivering both impact and efficiency.

The four founding charities are represented on the Rippling Board along with independent Directors. Rippling is now seeking an energetic and values-driven Chief Executive Officer to kick start the operations of this collaboration.

“We hope Rippling, which is driven by the same strong values key to the four founding charities, inspires people to think about fundraising differently and makes those involved feel as proud as we all do to be part of such a ground-breaking start-up,” Rippling Chair, David Cartwright said.
