A former Hockeyroo who said she was terminally ill with cancer has been convicted and fined $2600 after pleading guilty to faking a doctor’s certificate and medical letters.
Kathryn Hubble, of Potts Point, told a co-worker at Redkite she didn’t “have a great deal of time” but her story was questioned after the registered cancer charity hired an investigator, according to the crown’s statement of facts.
Magistrate Greg Grogin convicted the 33-year-old, fined her more than $2600, and put her on two 12-month good behaviour bonds at Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday.
