Calxa giving away $1 million of software

Calxa is the only Australian donor in Connecting Up’s software donation program, and is now the fifth largest contributor behind Microsoft, Cisco, Symantec and Adobe. Calxa donates software that helps not-for-profit (NFP) organisations produce budgets, board reports and grant acquittals in less than half the time taken by traditional spreadsheets.

Where have the donations gone to date?

Donations have gone to a wide range of organisations, including those in the housing, health and disability services sectors, as well as many indigenous corporations, youth support groups and women’s organisations.

Benefits of Calxa software

According to Calxa CEO Mick Devine, the aim of the software donation program is to give grassroots NFPs the opportunity to be as productive as their larger counterparts.

By linking with accounting software such as MYOB, QuickBooks or Xero it saves time for the finance staff by eliminating the need to work with complex spreadsheets and manual transfer of data.

Management and boards appreciate both the timeliness of reports and also the improved integrity of the data. There is significantly reduced opportunity for both mistakes and deliberate manipulation of data. Those less number savvy board members appreciate the visual reports that are easy to interpret.
