Victoria has received the largest amount in grants totalling $4.9 million, followed by NSW with $1.9 million.

More than 900 not-for-profit (NFP) organisations involved in areas such as arts and culture, health and environment conservation, social welfare, education and medical research applied for funding nationally.

Applicants were assessed against the parameters of strategy, outcomes, capability and leadership.

Perpetual Philanthropy General Manager Andrew Thomas has said that the organisations granted funding were able to identify measurable outcomes and communicate how they managed their organisations efficiently and effectively.

Thomas said that Perpetual’s analysis reveals that smaller charities with limited resources can be as successful as large organisations when applying for funds.

Queensland received over $1.5 million, South Australia received over $230,000 and Western Australia received over $400,000 from trusts managed by Perpetual through its annual funding round.
