Special Olympics Australia elects Nicola Stokes as CEO and the Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association welcomes four new Shadow Minister appointments.

Stokes, Special Olympics Australia’s (SOA) new CEO is currently a Board member of Stretch-a-Family, co-Chair of the International Diabetes Federation’s Life for a Child program and a member of the NSW Premier’s Council for Active Living.

Previously Stokes held the role of CEO at the Australian Diabetes Council. In her time she oversaw a trebling of national and international membership from 54,000 to 187,000. Stokes’ successful career has armed her with both commercial and management experience.

The Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association (AHHA) welcomes Catherine King as Shadow Minister for Health and Minister Melissa Parke as Shadow Assistant Minister for Health.

Also stepping into a new appointment is Shayne Neumann who will take on the role as Shadow Minister for Indigenous Affairs and Jenny Macklin who is the new Shadow Minister for Families and Payments.

“During Labor’s time in government, significant reforms were implemented in health, disability and aged care. The AHHA looks forward to a continuing strong relationship with both the Government and Opposition in service of the Australian healthcare system,” says Alison Verhoeven, CEO, AHHA.
