Legacy Australia Chairman David Gray said “The appointment of a CEO is an important step towards consolidating Legacy’s work to date whilst recognising the need to plan for how best we can meet the future needs of Legacy Beneficiaries for many years to come.

“Organisations today must continually adapt to meet the changing environment within which they operate.

“Legacy is no different and the changes we face today in terms of public expectations, the requirements of those we care for and the increased governance requirements on charities generally, must all be addressed,” said Mr Gray.

Ms Walker has worked in both public and private sector organisations, including 25 years’ experience in line management, project management and consulting strategic and operational roles. Jenny served for 16 years in the Army Reserve, in the Australian Intelligence Corps, retiring at the rank of Major, and also has tertiary qualifications in business and marketing.

Legacy is a charity that provides services to Australian families suffering financially and socially after the incapacitation or death of a spouse or parent, during or after their defence force service.

Legacy cares for around 100,000 widows, children and disabled dependents through a network of 50 Legacy Clubs in Australia and London.
