Yvonne Butler takes the lead at the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM).

Butler brings to the organisation a combination of deep industry knowledge, consulting expertise and global management experience. Previously she has held senior positions at Allens, Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Ernst & Young, the Palladium Group, APP Corporation and Transfield Services and is regarded as a thought leader in strategy, governance and risk management.

As a Fellow of the AIPM, Butler comes to the organisation with a wealth of knowledge in the project management area, including extensive experience as a past member of a number of Institute committees and project groups.

National President Dr Steve Milner said “The Board has decided that Butler is the best person to lead AIPM in a changing global environment and we have every confidence in her ability to lead our organisation to its next level of maturity. She is very considered and determined, and will be a real asset at the helm of our organisation.”

The Refrigerated Warehouse & Transport Association of Australia (RWTA) announce Russell Sturzaker as CEO.

Sturzaker has extensive experience working in the not-for-profit sector, currently serving as Melbourne Chapter Chairman of the Australasian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE), and previously at Four Wheel Drive Victoria where he served as CEO for 5 years.

In his previous role at Four Wheel Drive Victoria, Sturzaker was responsible for the overall development and management of the Association. His key task was to provide services to members and key stakeholders in accordance with the strategic intent, statutory requirements and membership agreements. He aided in building the membership base through strong communication, marketing, and consultation skills.

Sturzaker officially takes on the new role on 3 October 2014.

The Swimming Pool and Spa Association of Australia (SPASA Australia) elect Gary Nye as CEO.

Over the past 40 years, Nye has held senior executive roles at Coles Myer, Target and more recently Clark Rubber where he was the Chief Operating Officer. He has also been the President of the Swimming Pool Retail Association Australia (SPRAA) for the last two years and was a founding member on its Board. During this time at SPRAA he assisted with the development of the Certificate III and IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Service.

In making the announcement SPASA Australia President, Lynley Papineau said “Our industry was looking for a leader who understands the challenges and opportunities facing our association and members. Nye’s background and industry experience places him in a unique position to take SPASA Australia through the next stage of development.”

“Having worked in the industry for a number of years I am excited about the opportunity of leading SPASA Australia into the future. The work that has been done by the SPASA Australia directors over the last 18 months has set this association up to be the preeminent association in the swimming pool industry and I look forward to the challenges ahead,” says Nye.
