This year’s theme is empowerment and Australian charities are encouraged to apply for one of the 18 grants of $50,000 that are on offer.
Areas of funding include, but are not limited to; health and education services, human rights, indigenous causes, disadvantaged youth and veteran affairs.
Funds will be made available to the grant-winners at the end of the year.
How to register an Expression of Interest (EOI):
Step 1 – Select a person in your organisation who has worked tirelessly in their role to empower others. This nomination is an important part of the application process. Please outline why you consider your nominee should be recognised for their efforts.
Step 2 – Describe how your organisation would use the grant. The funds can be used for a new or existing project. Grant funds must be acquitted by May 2017.
Important information:
Evidence of taxation deductibility: As the Foundation is bound by the requirements of the USA Department of Internal Revenue, EOIs will only be accepted from charitable organisations with current Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. If you are uncertain of your organisation’s DGR status, your authorised representative can contact the ATO for confirmation on 1300 130 248.
Shortlist notification: Successful applicants will be notified in June 2015, via email from Newman’s Own Foundation in the USA if their organisation has been short listed for the opportunity to apply for a grant and application documents will be forwarded electronically. They will need to complete an application and submit it with all relevant material by the required July deadline. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email during July 2015.
