The purpose of our association is to…

Transform the delivery of sustainable infrastructure in Australia.

Our members are…

Fifty-eight major industry stakeholders including government, financiers, designers, consultants, contractors and owner operators, and membership is still growing each month. AGIC has organisational, NGOs, Academia, Association and individual membership categories.

The biggest challenge our members face…

Is having the authorships of the 27 assessment sub categories funded by government to facilitate the final development and launch of the scheme. Some members are already structuring their management framework on new infrastructure projects using the AGIC sub-categories in anticipation of the Government funding allocation. Others are specifying its use in tenders, and once the $1.25 million funding is allocated it will take 12-15 months to get the rating tool operational. The funding need is immediate and the case compelling.

Member benefits include…

Discounts on project assessments, training courses, technical manuals and AGIC sponsored events. Membership also offers the opportunity to assist in the development of the AGIC Rating Scheme and it is a public display of an organisation’s commitment to sustainability in new and existing infrastructure. Foundational members receive additional benefits.

We advocate strongly for…

A greater application of sustainability and whole-of-life principles and methodologies in the delivery of new infrastructure projects and the upgrading of existing assets.

Our greatest achievement…

Is building a national not-for-profit organisation through the amazing effort of one hundred enthusiastic industry volunteers in 17 months that now has 58 members, a sustainability rating tool designed ready for authorship, a very successful inaugural conference, and is gaining significant credibility and application with industry and government departments.

Our events…

Will initially comprise an annual conference, and this will be complemented by training programs for industry in sustainability concepts, self-assessment of a project’s sustainability and training for independent sustainability rating verifiers. It is also planned to be a forum for governments and industry to discuss infrastructure issues.

As an association it is important to…

Operate transparently and base our decisions on our values and organisational charter. AGIC aspires to be a vehicle for the continual stimulus of innovation in infrastructure.
