Fifty Acres has announced Mobinah Ahmad as their newest team member, taking on an Account Director role at the for-good agency. Mobinah was selected due to her vast and varied professional background and the team are hopeful that her experience will bring in new networks and fresh perspectives.
Mobinah is a strategic thinker with over 15 years of success in directing profitable operations within highly competitive environments. She has experience across event management, marketing, media, project management, client relationships, business development and growth and strategic partnerships. Her role at Fifty Acres will see Mobinah responsible for working within a dynamic team, and collaborating with a list of not-for-profit, social impact, and for-purpose organisations. Previously, Mobinah held the role of Executive Officer at the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry for almost five years. During this time, Mobinah was entrusted with the overall responsibilities of defining the chamber’s roadmap of success, including strategy development and consultation for high-level projects. She organised networking events, hosted delegations, B2B Sales and facilitated two-way trade and investment between Australia and the Middle East and North Africa region. Mobinah’s primary role was to help Australian businesses expand into the Middle East through personalised introductions and channels with influential government personnel and businesspeople. “Being in the corporate sector for five years taught me a lot, and I am grateful for the networks built, milestones accomplished and growing Australian businesses. However, my true passion is the non-profit sector and giving back to my Australian community.” Her experience includes working with the Race Discrimination Commissioner at the Australian Human Rights Commission, leading a national project countering Islamophobia. She has also worked at the Australian Communication Consumer Action Network, Australia’s peak body for consumer representation in communications. Mobinah worked as an Event Manager for eight years at the Multicultural Eid Festival & Fair, where she formulated and implemented creative ideas to enhance the experiences of festival attendees to foster a more significant positive reputation for the organisation. Mobinah is also currently Managing Editor of AMUST News in a volunteer capacity where she oversees the logistics of the news outlet to ensure its rapid growth and diverse representation of culture, religion, socio-economic status, gender, age and ideas. Through this role, she keeps current networks and is aware of news amongst multicultural communities. Mobinah is also a Mentor at the ISRA Academy, where she mentors young people in their lives, including their careers. One of Mobinah’s most important secrets to her success is giving back to the community. “The more time you give in doing good to grow the community you live in, the better our society will be to live amongst. Having a community-based approach to working as opposed to an individualistic-based approach is what has led me to developing my skills and contacts.” Fifty Acres are thrilled to bring new and fresh talent to their team, and look forward to growing as an agency through Mobinah’s invaluable and impressive experience across multicultural affairs. With a solid network of community and interfaith leaders, government politicians and officials, various businesses and the media, Fifty Acres looks forward to offering even stronger networking opportunities to their growing portfolio of clients. Mobinah is determined to create new offerings for the company, and looks forward to drawing on her vast experience in project management to develop targeted communication and media strategies for existing and new clients. Contributing to the incredible work of the current team, Mobinah will bring in fresh perspectives and ideas to enhance client relations. “Joining FiftyAcres feels like coming home, back to where my values align with the work I dedicate my talents to and the people we can help. I feel blessed to be working in a company that builds itself upon an ethical business ethos.” Mobinah Ahmad is also a skilled photographer and videographer, owning her own business where she captures special events. She has incredible experience and an eye for artistic and illustrative detail. One of her photos was a finalist for Photo of the Year at the Premier’s Multicultural Media Awards. Mobinah has two Bachelor’s Degrees (Science and Arts) and two Master’s Degrees (Digital Communication and Islamic Studies). She hopes to do her PhD in the future, looking at the Ethical Use of Social Media in the Australian Digital Context. She has received awards for Mental Health First Aid Program, Business Women Champion of the Heart, Finalist for Young Journalist of the Year at the Premier’s Multicultural Media Awards. She is an Ambassador for Peace and received a Heroic Award from NSW Police for saving a man’s life. Fifty Acres Founder and CEO, Jo Scard has expressed her excitement for having Mobinah Ahmad on board, “We are so very thrilled to have a talent like Mobinah join our team. We look forward to learning from her wide range of skills and know that she will bring invaluable knowledge to our agency and dedication to our clients.”
