In recent years, Australia’s disability services sector has been shifting towards self-directed approaches. Now, with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in its first year, transitioning has become a top priority. This national conference will provide case study presentations from organisations and services in NDIS launch sites across Australia, discussing challenges, learnings and progressive strategies for success.
Tackling the big issues one-by-one, it will include presentations from institutions that have successfully initiated change and embedded new practices. You will be able to use the lessons they have learnt to shortcut challenges you are currently facing and walk away with a plan for institution-wide change.
Self-Directed Approaches will provide the opportunity to learn from institutions that have:
- Internally transitioned their organisation
- Externally succeeded in a commercial environment
- Prepared consumers, carers and families.
