Women’s fashion retailer, Decjuba, has partnered with The Hunger Project and Unleashed Women, to combat world hunger by empowering women in rural areas of developing countries including India, Bangladesh, Africa and Latin America.
Decjuba has joined the cause of the female-led movement Unleashed Women, which aims to connect, celebrate and empower women and The Hunger Project’s goals to eliminate world hunger by 2030.
The retailer will utilise its 56 stores, database of more than 250,000 customers and social media community to promote the cause.
“The Unleashed Women movement is closely aligned with our own philosophy to empower women and allows us to make a difference on both a global and local scale,” said Tania Austin, Decjuba owner and CEO.
The Unleashed Women movement will raise funds to support the work of the Hunger Project. Each woman who joins commits to the challenge of raising a minimum of $1,000 by December 31. The funds will then be dedicated to women who live in disadvantaged communities in developing countries such as India, South-America, Bangladesh and Africa. The Hunger Project will train women to become self-reliant and will empower women to improve key issues within their own community.
