Dawkins is Co-Founder and CEO of StartSomeGood, a crowdfunding platform for social benefit projects around the globe and the Director of the Australian Changemakers Festival. He previously founded Australian youth media not-for-profit (NFP) Vibewire, leading the organisation from 2000–08 before moving to Washington DC to become the first Social Media Director at Ashoka: Innovators for the Public, a global NFP supporting social entrepreneurs.

At Third Sector Expo 2014, Dawkins will cover how crowdfunding is increasingly being used as a signalling or selection mechanism for funding from corporates, foundations and government, using StartSomeGood’s Dreamstarter partnership with ING Direct as a case study. He will also share a range of tips and suggestions for how organisations can succeed at crowdfunding.

Third Sector Expo 2014 is the two-day professional development conference and exhibition that will unite leaders from across the entire NFP sector – including professional and industry associations, member benefit organisations, community groups, advocacy groups and charitable organisations – to tackle contemporary issues impacting the sector.

Attended by over 300 NFP professionals in 2013, this year’s event will provide more in-depth and targeted sessions, keynote speakers and an even wider variety of topics. The exhibition, which is set to be larger than previous years, will allow you to discover the latest NFP products and services, and speak face-to-face with company representatives.
