Coles is ready for Christmas as it airs its latest holiday campaign. The supermarket giant with Coles Fresh advisor and chef Curtis Stone and volunteers from the Country Women’s Association (CWA) in Victoria star in the national Coles Christmas campaign.
“Christmas is a time to celebrate, connect with family and friends and eat delicious food which is why it made sense to include CWA Victoria members in our Christmas campaign this year,” said McDowell.
“We love Christmas and we love how the CWA use their baking talents to raise funds for those in need. This is why we’ve supported their Christmas Bake sale over the last two years, and why we were delighted to feature them in our Christmas campaign. We love that the ladies of the CWA along with their families have the opportunity to share their special Christmas memories, recipes and traditions with families across Australia.”
Five women from the CWA were chosen for the campaign which focuses on all generations and what they love about Christmas. One of them is Warrnambool resident Janette O’Keefe. She said she is excited to be part of the campaign so she can share her love of Christmas with Australia.
“Being involved in the commercial was absolutely wonderful. It was a great opportunity to showcase the work of the CWA and to top it off, Curtis is such a nice, down to earth man,” said O’Keefe.
Over the last two years, the supermarket giant has donated almost two tonnes of baking ingredients including butter, flour, sugar, mixed peel and eggs for the members to create hundreds of Christmas puddings and cakes to be sold at the annual CWA Christmas Fair in early December.
The sale of the baked goods will help the CWA raise around $60,000 in total over the two years to support fundraising activities. The Christmas Fair on Saturday, 2 December at the CWA headquarters in Melbourne will be one of the biggest fundraisers of the organisations where members can showcase their crafts and cooking skills while raising funds to support the charitable efforts of the organisation.
