There’s approximately $80 billion of grant funding up for grabs across Australia every year. Yet many small to medium size charities struggle to access these vital funds due to barriers such as restricted internal capability, limited resources (both human and financial) and heavy workloads.
When you place these barriers in the context of a heavily saturated fundraising marketplace of 56,000+ charities and growing by 4% every year, it is no surprise that many founders and leaders of charities find themselves increasingly overwhelmed by the task of securing valuable funding.
But even as these organisations stare down the barrel of these challenges, the time has never been more critical for them to further build and diversify their funding pillars towards scaling their impact.
In weighing up the potential offered by the various pillars of fundraising then, grants certainly emerge near the top as a cost effective solution. This is particularly so for organisations that already find themselves grants ready – that is, those that are armed with a strong and proven mission; possess expertise in delivering game-changing programs; and have data that clearly evidences their capacity for impact.
But as many who have previously tried their hand at preparing a grant application already know, the world of grants is not for the faint of heart. As a fundraising strategy, grants can be time consuming, require a specialised skill set, and demand a long term vision. And all too often, there is a lack of meaningful, affordable, and accessible learning opportunities for organisations seeking to successfully build and deliver a grant program.
And success is most certainly the end goal. After all, grant funding can make a profound difference to the level of impact an organisation is capable of seeding in the next five, ten, or even twenty years. In response to the clear need for learning opportunities in this area, the team of fundraising specialists at
Grant’d have developed a tailored workshop – ‘Nailing Your Grant Applications’ – and in doing so are unapologetically shaking up the grants sector.
Drawing upon the team’s combined two decades of nonprofit expertise and showcasing the signature Grant’d approach of Strategy, Data and Story; this workshop is the first in a series of many more slated for release in 2020. Each workshop will also provide attendees with take-home resources that are jam packed with valuable information and tools that will prove integral to any organisation’s successful preparation of high quality submissions – each and every time they pick up a pen.
With many of these workshops set to be Auslan interpreted and a number of online workshops already slated for 2020, the Grant’d team are also maximising inclusivity and accessibility for the diverse workforce that makes up the Australian nonprofit landscape.
No matter who, where, or what any organisation is and their budgetary considerations; these workshops firmly herald the arrival of interactive, hands on, affordable and game changing learning opportunities for charities who are seeking grant funding to power their successful growth.
Bookings are being taken for the Sydney workshop on 25th November and receiving future notifications of upcoming workshop opportunities and grant resources is as easy as joining the Grant’d community via the website.
