Speaking with Third Sector, Bundesen said that in times of financial hardship people are more inclined to defraud their employers.
“Financial pressure is one of the biggest reasons people commit fraud. And there are going to be quite a number of people in financial distress who become employees of these organisations. It’s not something that’s incorporated in the cash flow – but it’s something that not-for-profits are going to really need to be aware and careful of,” she said.
