ATO says it’s time for not-for-profits to move to myGov

The ATO is urging not-for-profits that use the ATO’s Business Portal to make the necessary move to myGovID ahead of the retirement of AUSkey in March.

On 27 March, the ATO and 26 other government agencies are retiring the AUSkey and Manage ABN Connections login credentials. This means not-for-profit organisations must set up and use myGovID in order to access the ATO’s Business Portal and a range of other government online services.

myGovID proves the identity of an individual prior to granting them access to use government online services on behalf of a not-for-profit organisation. Once the app is set up, the primary representative of the not-for-profit organisation (i.e. the director, public officer, or responsible person) will need to link their myGovID to their organisation using the authorisation service called Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) to authorise access for their representatives. Any employee or volunteer representative must have their own myGovID.

The majority of users have now transitioned to myGovID, with over 13,000 new enrolments per day. We’ve seen over 10 million logins to online services for businesses or agents. It’s simple, secure and flexible.
