The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) announces the 2023 Not-For-Profit Scholarship program is open for applications.
NFP leaders from all states and territories are invited to apply for this exciting scholarship opportunity, with 200 fully-funded places available for leaders of small not-for-profit organisations.
Directors of small NFP organisations with an annual income of $2 million or less, or aspiring directors, executives and senior managers of NFP organisations are encouraged to apply.
Successful applicants will undertake the highly regarded AICD Governance Foundations for NFP Directors course between August 2023 and June 2024.
The COVID-19 pandemic and various royal commissions have had major implications for the NFP and charitable sector, with greater demands and expectations being placed on organisations and their boards.
“These scholarships will provide NFP leaders a valuable opportunity to enhance their governance skills and capabilities, to support their organisations and meet the growing challenges at a time of rapid change,” said AICD Managing Director and CEO Mark Rigotti.
The AICD 2022-23 NFP Governance & Performance Study shows that directors are being required to commit more time and provide greater and more rigorous focus to the operations of their not-for-profit organisations.
The Governance Foundations for NFP Directors program is designed to provide participants with an understanding of fundamental compliance and performance-related roles and responsibilities for board directors, specifically in the areas of governance, risk, financial performance and strategy.
