New CEO for Family Planning Victoria

Family Planning Victoria has announced the appointment of Claire Vissenga as its new CEO.

Holding a Masters of Psychology from Monash University, she practiced in a range of areas including child and adolescence, forensics, drug and alcohol and disability services before moving into senior management roles.

Having held CEO roles at both e.motion21 and Aspire, Vissenga brings experience in mental health, disability health and wellbeing along with a strong background in influencing health policy and advocating for change.

Vissenga is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and CEO Institute. She has been a non-executive Director of numerous boards including Great South Coast Medicare Local (now Western Victoria Primary Health Network Ltd.).

She said, “I am very much looking forward to leading Family Planning Victoria in to the future where we will build on the many achievements to date and confirm the organisation’s place as the leading provider of sexual and reproductive health services.”

Jane Stuchberry, Chair, Board of Directors for Family Planning Victoria said , “Claire has a demonstrated track record of success in the not-for-profit sector.  The Board is confident that she brings the skills and experience necessary to lead, develop and grow Family Planning Victoria.  We look forward to supporting Claire through the next phase of development for FPV.”

Vissenga will commence on 2 November.
