Louise Sylvan joins TACSI

Highly-experienced director Louise Sylvan has been appointed to the Board of The Australian Centre for Social Innovation (TACSI).

Sylvan is Chair of Energy Consumers Australia, the new body created to strengthen the voice of residential and small business consumers in the energy markets; Adjunct Professor at the Charles Perkins Centre, University of Sydney, in the Prevention Research Collaboration, School of Public Health, School of Medicine; a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of Social Enterprise Finance Australia, and a director of the Australian Policy Risk Institute and of Impact Investing Australia.

Sylvan has previously been a Commissioner of the Productivity Commission, Deputy Chair of the ACCC, Head of CHOICE (Australian Consumers’ Association) and President of the global consumer body, Consumers International. She chaired the working group at the OECD examining Regulation for the Demand Side of markets, represented Australia on the International Consumer Protection Enforcement Network, and is the former Chair of Bush Heritage Australia.

Sylvan will bring a fresh perspective to the TACSI team. “TACSI is at the forefront of creating new approaches, new partnerships, new thinking and new people-centric models for bringing positive and lasting change to individual and family lives,” she said.

“It’s a great honour to be joining this board of systems thinkers and to be able to contribute more actively to TACSI’s work.”

 Australian Centre for Social Innovation Chairperson David Knox said Louise would be a fantastic champion for Social Innovation in New South Wales and beyond.
