As part of the Australian Society of Association Executives’ change to become the Australiasian Society of Association Executives, Nick Hill, an existing AuSAE Director and CEO of the Building Officials Institute of New Zealand, has been appointed to the position of Vice President of AuSAE, effective immediately.

Brett Jeffery from Events & Venues Rotorua has been appointed to be the second New Zealand Director of AuSAE.

Both were on the board of Association New Zealand Inc (ANZi), with Hill serving as the ANZi President.

The new AuSAE came into being on 1 January, but the official launch and Symposium will take place on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 September 2011 in Canberra.

The AuSAE board has held its first meetings for the year, discussing a range of issues and plans for the year, including:

  • Broadening the membership categories to embrace more position titles than is currently the case, aiming to do more to support those whose career is taking them towards leadership positions.
  • Increasing the size of the Chapter Committees in all states.
  • Renaming the Corporate Supporters membership category “Business Partners”, helping to clarify their valuable role as AuSAE stakeholders.
  • Reworking the new AuSAE constitution to embrace AuSAE’s internationalisation.

AuSAE is also seeking input from members in relation to the Federal Treasury’s recent call for comments relating to its scoping study for a national not-for-profit regulator.

Comments can be submitted to AuSAE through {encode=”spryor@mav.vic.edu.au” title=”Simon Pryor”} by Friday 18 February or feedback can be made directly.

For more information on the paper, or to make a submission, visit the Treasury website. The closing date for submissions is 25 February 2011.
