Applicants may apply for up to $20,000 to assist with the costs conferences that are committed to the professional development of mental health carers and those impacted by the disease.
The program, funded by Mental Health Australia and the Department of Health seeks to expand knowledge within the sector and improve mental health outcomes.
“This program has been a resounding success, with some fantastic conferences making use of the grant money,” says CEO of Mental Health Australia Frank Quinlan.
“It’s extremely important that individuals and carers are involved in the discussions and exposed to the opportunities that these conferences provide. It’s also important that we recognise and value the unique skills and experiences that individuals and carers can bring to these events. Funding opportunities like this can make it possible.”
