For $10 a month for three months, people can join the Crisis Response Crew and get exclusive, behind-the-scenes content from Red Cross aid workers around the world.
They’ll hear first-hand accounts of how aid gets through war zones; witness heartwarming moments of families reunited after conflicts; and learn how refugee camps and disaster relief operations are managed.
Peter Walton, Director, International at Australian Red Cross, says the product is an experiment in delivering premium content with a purpose: “We know that people are interested in how aid works. They want to know how humanitarian operations take place, and they want to know how their donations make a difference.
“Every day, we hear incredible stories from around the world. How our colleagues deal with a crisis like 80,000 people needing emergency shelter. How a 10-year-old boy found his mother after being torn from her side to serve as a soldier. How mobile phones are being used to help people survive famine,” said Walton.
“The Crisis Response Crew is a way to bring Australians closer to our aid workers around the world.
“Our aim is to deepen the traditional relationship with donors and create a more personal and long-lasting connection, leaving people feeling more empowered about enacting change.”
Donations from the Crisis Response Crew enable Australian Red Cross to support humanitarian operations around the world.
