There are ten award categories:
- MP’s Volunteer of the Year
- Junior Volunteer Award (17 years old and under)
- Young Volunteer Award (18-25 years old)
- Senior Volunteer Award (65 years old and over)
- Business Volunteer Award
- Education Award
- Emergency Management Volunteer Award
- Environment Award
- Innovation in Volunteering Award (organisation or individual)
- Long-term Commitment to Community Service Award.
Federal members of parliament will host award ceremonies across the country to celebrate the achievements of local volunteering heroes.
