GJK Facility Services, a leading provider of facility services, is proud to announce their continued dedication to philanthropy with their support for Kids Cancer Project Australia and their collaboration with the Lighthouse Foundation. By partnering with these esteemed organizations, GJK Facility Services aims to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children affected by cancer and young people in need.

George Stamas made a donation of $20,000 to Kids Cancer Project Australia at the 2022 FMA Gala Award night, followed by another contribution of $10,000 at the Hyatt Hotel Melbourne during another FMA Gala Award night, demonstrating GJK Facility Services’ commitment to improving treatment and survival rates for children with high-risk brain cancers.

Brain cancer currently accounts for 40 per cent of pediatric cancer deaths, and GJK Facility Services is eager to support research efforts that can propel advancements in this field.

Led by Associate Professor Matt Dun from The University of Newcastle, the project supported by GJK Facility Services aims to investigate tumour genomics and protein architecture to establish patient-specific therapeutic options for children with high-grade gliomas (HGG).

This research has the potential to significantly enhance treatment outcomes and survivability for these children and their families.

Furthermore, GJK Facility Services has joined forces with the Lighthouse Foundation to revitalize one of their residences for young people.

Through their GJK Giving Back program, the dedicated team at GJK Facility Services is actively involved in making a difference in their community.

The recently rejuvenated home will provide a safe and nurturing environment for young residents affected by neglect, abuse, and homelessness, fostering self-sufficiency and responsibility.

“We are proud to launch our social impact program, GJK Giving Back, and work alongside Lighthouse Foundation to create caring communities where young people can heal and thrive,” said CEO Elias Stamas.

“Through meaningful partnerships and community support, we aim to make a positive difference in the lives of those in need.”

As part of George Stamas’ long-term vision that businesses can and should change people’s lives, he began a journey in 2017 supporting and mentoring an Indigenous entrepreneur, Jasmine Newman.

Jasmine is a proud Aboriginal woman with true passion for continuing her family legacy and operating a successful company that creates opportunities for Aboriginal people through employment and career pathways.

With initial and continued support from George and the executive team at GJK Facility Services, Jasmine is now an Indigenous business owner that has grown Killara to compete on a national scale.

Staying true to George and Jasmine’s vision, Killara is becoming one of the most respected and attractive employers of Aboriginal people in our industry.

GJK Facility Services has a long-standing commitment to giving back and supporting charitable organizations. With over 30 established partnerships across Australia, the company actively contributes to various causes that make a difference in the lives of individuals and communities

As part of their philanthropic efforts, George Stamas, a member of the GJK Facility Services family, recently donated an impressive $100,000 to the Lighthouse Foundation during a charity event organized by the 10 Women project at Melbourne’s Town Hall.

This significant contribution further underscores GJK Facility Services’ commitment to community support and their vision of a better, more compassionate world.

By actively supporting Kids Cancer Project Australia and collaborating with Lighthouse Foundation, GJK Facility Services is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. They encourage other businesses to join them in their mission to give back and create caring communities.
