Neuron Mobility and Launch Housing unite for National Homelessness Week

Australia’s leading e-scooter operator Neuron Mobility and Melbourne’s largest Specialist Homelessness Organisation, Launch Housing, have announced a partnership to mark National Homelessness Week (1-7 August).
As part of the partnership, Neuron is supporting Launch Housing by providing the company’s staff with unlimited, free Neuron rides in Melbourne. The e-scooter passes allow Launch Housing’s case workers and other staff to have sustainable, convenient, and free transport, so they can move between offices and undertake outreach with the homeless community. The passes are also a wellbeing initiative for a team working in a challenging industry, providing them with an opportunity to enjoy traveling via e-scooter in their day to day life.
Launch Housing is an independent Melbourne-based community organisation passionately committed to ending homelessness. Over 400 staff across 15 locations in metropolitan Melbourne work around the clock with the shared belief that there is no person who can’t be housed, and there’s no community that can’t end homelessness.
Charlotte Bacon, Continuing Care worker and Case Manager at Launch Housing’s Southbank Crisis Accommodation Centre, said: “Neuron’s e-scooters have made it easier and quicker to get into the city without needing to book a car or worry about parking.”
“The majority of my work with the homeless community is outreach-based, so I move around the city often. I now scoot whenever I have a client meeting in the CBD, it’s even quicker than taking a tram, with less waiting time, and more flexibility – and I can even park right outside work.”
“Having an alternative to cars and public transport has been crucial while COVID is still a concern, especially given our work with vulnerable people. The partnership also allows us to use the e-scooters in our personal time, which has been an added bonus, many of the team have mentioned how happy traveling by e-scooter makes them feel.”
Richard Hannah, Head of ANZ at Neuron Mobility said: “We are delighted to partner with Launch Housing, an organisation with which we share many common values. As a company it is really important that we invest in meaningful partnerships that have a positive impact on the communities we operate in.”
“We hope by giving Launch Housing staff access to Neuron e-scooters this will play a small part in helping them to continue their incredible work, and allow them to have an accessible and convenient transport option for their outreach activities.”
Howard Ralley, General Manager, Campaigns and Engagement, Launch Housing said: “Launch Housing is thrilled to be celebrating the commencement of our partnership with Neuron Mobility this National Homelessness Week.”
“We can all play a part in ending homelessness in Melbourne, and Launch Housing is grateful to Neuron Mobility for providing access to e-scooters for our staff and for the opportunity to support riders to take action to help people experiencing homelessness in their city.”
During National Homelessness Week Neuron and Launch will also help inform Melburnians on how they can take action if they see someone sleeping rough while they are scooting around the city. Neuron’s in-app messaging will present riders with the opportunity to be directed to About Neuron Mobility
