Australia to host over 300 international association conferences

The Australia Associations Project is a collaboration between the Australian Government through Tourism Australia and Australia’s leading convention bureaux and centres, to help associations access and leverage Australia’s knowledge economy.

Manager of the Australian Associations Project Julie Sheather said that Australia’s expertise and innovation is helping to attract significant events across a wide range of industries including agribusiness/aquaculture, education and training, ICT and clean energy.

“Australia is an ideal business event destination with its close proximity to Asia, its political and economic stability, its creativity and innovation, and its world class business events facilities,” Sheather said.

“The business events industry is working together to leverage the best of Australian innovation and expertise across the government, university and private sectors on behalf of associations bringing their events to Australia.”
