For almost a decade, Australia hasn’t top the list of most reputable charity, until recently. CareFlight, a group of people who wanted to make a real difference for Australians needing critical medical care by bringing the hospital to the patient for the first time in Australia, has been named Australia’s most reputable charity in 2019.
The organisation said in a statement that “it is a humbling honour” for their growing aeromedical charity which reaches and cares for more Australians than ever before across remote, regional and urban areas.
CareFlight CEO Mick Frewen said to be recognised as the most reputable charity in Australia is a fantastic reflection of just how hard we have been working to help even more Australians with our rescue helicopters, turbo prop aircraft and jet air ambulances.
“This great honour is recognition of all the work our medical teams and flight operations teams are doing every day in urban, remote and regional areas to save lives, speed recovery and serve the community,” Frewen said.
“As an organisation dedicated first and foremost to delivering on our social purpose, it’s rewarding to know the community we serve have placed such trust in CareFlight.”
The annual Australian Charity Reputation Index (RepTrak) survey compares Australia’s 40 largest charities. It ranks them using a scoring system that includes measures of trust, admiration, respect and overall esteem.
CareFight’s ranking has risen for successive years, having placed third in 2017 and second in 2018.
More than 9,000 people, representative by age and gender, were interviewed nationally by the Reputation Institute as part of the study.
