Camp Quality: Courage

Camp Quality has launched  an international program of courage to seriously ill Australian children.

The children’s cancer charity, in conjunction with the Fairbridge Foundation, will bring the internationally respected Beads of Courage program to Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick on Thursday.

Beads of Courage is a program designed to support children and families coping with a serious illness and commemorates milestones children have achieved along their treatment path with colourful beads. The beads will represent courage and hope.

The program is already in operation across 90 hospitals across the world. The launch marks the first time Beads of Courage has been introduced into Australia.

“We are delighted to bring the fantastic program to Sydney Children’s hospital,” said Simon Rountree, CEO of Camp Quality.

“The Camp Quality Bead of Courage is a symbol of everything our charity embodies; hope, optimism and resilience. We encourage kids going through cancer treatments to wear their bead with pride to commemorate their bravery battling this serious illness,” said Rountree.

Child cancer patients, Zoe and Khyla will receive Australia’s first official Beads of Courage kits, including the first Camp Quality bead.

“Beads of Courage is a fantastic initiative and we hope to bring the program to more hospitals across Australia in the near future,” said Rountree.
